details-2016-minneapolis-motorcycle-show.pngThis weekend, the 2016 Progressive International Motorcycle Show rolls into town at the Minneapolis Convention Center. From the latest bikes to custom motorcycle builds and stunt performances, this is an event you shouldn't miss if you love motorcycles.

If you’re planning a trip, here are seven things the Tousley Team recommends checking out at the 2016 Minneapolis Motorcycle Show this weekend:

1. Watch the NO LIMIT Stunt Team

Take some time away from checking out the motorcycles to watch expert stunt riders Jason Britton and Ian Gaines of the NO LIMIT Stunt Team show off their moves. Whether you’re already a fan of stunt riding or new to the sport, they’ll blow your mind with their extreme performance.

NO LIMIT Performances:
Friday 4:30pm, 6:30pm
Saturday 11:30am, 2:00pm, 4:30pm, 7:00pm
Sunday 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm

2. Get Riding Tips from the Zalusky Advanced Riding School

Riders of all skill levels should stop by Zalusky Advanced Riding School’s booth for some tips from local experts. ZARS’ professional team of instructors, led by former professional motorcycle racer Jessica Zalusky, can give you advice on how to get more out of your bike. If you’re interested, they’ll also be able to tell you about ZARS’ Advanced Riding School, which offers small group training on a closed course on advanced riding skills like cornering, body positioning, obstacle avoidance and how to better handle dangerous riding situations.

3. See the Custom Bikes

Custom BikesWhat motorcycle show would be complete without a lineup of amazing custom bikes? The Ultimate Builder competition is the largest custom motorcycle competition in the world. Stop by to see the bikes competiting for a spot in the Championship Round and over $100,000 in cash and prizes. You'll see modified Harleys, classic bikes, custom modifications to bikes with OEM parts and a freestyle class where anything is possible as long as it runs!

4. Meet Racing Legend Kevin Schwantz

One of America’s best all-time great road racers, Kevin Schwantz  has 25 career 500cc GP victories and is the 1993 500cc Grand Prix World Champion. Stop by the Progressive Main Stage to ask him your questions about racing, advanced riding techniques or even his favorite rides.

Q&A with 1993 Grand Prix Champion Kevin Schwantz on the Progressive Stage:
Friday 6:00pm
Saturday 2:30pm
Sunday 1:30pm

5. Check out the vintage bikes from Viking Chapter of the AMCA

vintage-bikes.jpgIt’s always fun to see the hottest new bikes, but don't forget to check out the awesome vintage rides too. The Viking Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America will be showing off antique and retro bikes at their booth during the 2016 Minnesota Motorcycle Show. This is a great opportunity to see amazing classic machines in person and to meet other vintage motorcycle enthusiasts.

6. Listen to the School of Rock Performances

The School of Rock performances are back by popular request for the third year at the International Motorcycle Show. Take a break from the motorcycle show to add a little rock and roll to your day while supporting youth musicians. Find the Progressive School of Rock stage by the vintage motorcycles directly across the convention center from the main entrance.

7. Check out Glen Heggstad’s Presentation on World Motorcycle Travel

Among the many awesome presentations on the Progressive Stage throughout the weekend is one by Glen Heggstad, an international motorcycle traveler whose adventures were recently featured in a documentary by National Geographic. Listen to the details of his remarkable “Earth Ride,” the tale of a world odyssey by Heggstad after his kidnapping and torture at the hands of Colombian rebels. It’s a tale of adventure and human strength you won’t want to miss.
