Have you seen the incredible urban snowmobile ride Levi LaVallee took through Saint Paul, Minnesota? If not, you have to check it out. Immediately!
Urban Snowmobiling at Its Finest
This video is really fun to watch—it gets me excited about snowmobiling (and sad that the season is over for most of the Midwest.) My favorite part is the incredible backflip jump Levi makes onto the ramp (starting at 1:21) and how he just flies past the Saint Paul Cathedral (see it at 1:40). Of course, it's hilarious to see what happens when Levi blazes past a cop car (be prepared to laugh at 2:57!)
This video is not only filmed in Minnesota, it features a Minnesota rider and snowmobile! Levi LaVallee is from Longville, Minnesota, where he still lives today when he's not racing. I've actually met him while visiting my cabin—he's a great guy! He's also sponsored by Polaris, which is headquartered just outside Minneapolis and assembles its sleds in Roseau, MN.
Unfortunately it's not possible to get the sled Levi is riding in the video. He's on a custom racing sled designed by Polaris Industries. The closest model commercially available is the Polaris Rush, which we carry at Tousley Motorsports.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend mimicking Levi's ride through Saint Paul. You definitely won't get as warm a reception from the police if you're flying over their squad cars and racing through the street! Not to mention, driving on pavement can cause damage to your sled. It's easy to ruin the drivetrain and skis if you land jumps on hard asphalt.
Overall, we loved this video at Tousley. We wish we'd have known when they were filming it so we could have watched! It definitely makes us excited for the next winter riding season!
