The summer's far from over. If you've been dreaming about spending your weekends out on the water, there's still plenty of time to enjoy a personal watercraft.
Every weekend, I help many outdoor enthusiasts purchase their first Sea Doo watercraft. If you're thinking about buying a PWC yourself, the most important thing is to consider how you plan to enjoy your Sea Doo.
Here are two Sea Doo personal watercraft that I highly recommend to new PWC owners:
1. Sea Doo Spark:
Laid-back and fun, the Sea Doo Spark is a great first personal watercraft. It's our most affordable PWC, which makes it perfect for families buying their first personal watercraft—or for people who want a PWC for themselves and a friend.
The Sea Doo Spark comes standard with room for two, and can be extended to add a third seat. If you want room for an additional passenger, we are able to add 8" to the back of the PWC for balance and extend the seat.
The Spark has an Intelligent Brake and Reverse (iBR) system that increases maneuverability and allows you to stop up to 100 feet (30 m) faster than other watercraft. Plus, it's easy to dock when you're done playing.
The Sea Doo Spark comes in a basic model, but we highly recommend the Convenience Package because it keeps the wind off your feet, adds a front storage bin and makes reboarding easier with an added step.
2. Sea Doo Wake 155
Perfect for pulling a tube, wakeboard, or skiers, the Sea Doo Wake 155 is a classic towing machine. This PWC is built to easily pull skiers and boarders out of the water with unique, pitched propellers and the fast start of low-end torque.
The Sea Doo Wake comes standard with covered storage in the front, as well as Sea Doo's Intelligent Brake and Reverse (iBR) safety feature. Achieved by dropping the gate and switching into neutral iBR stops the watercraft from 50 mph in only 50 feet. If you're planning to tow passengers in a busy lake or river, iBR can help you get back to them faster.
The Wake 155 also features a retractable Ski Pylon — a small boom with 3 positions to keep the row rope out of the water and making it easier for skiers to cut across the wake. If your favorite towing location is not your dock, the Sea Doo includes a place to store a wakeboard and tow ropes while moving, and a retractable step helps people get in and out on the water.
Room on the seat for up to three gives you room for both a driver and rear-facing spotter, and the wide-angle mirrors help the driver keep tabs on what's going on behind. All those tow sport-specific features make the Sea Doo Wake 155 a great machine for watersport enthusiasts.
