The Latest Snowmobile Updates to the Ski-Doo Lineup

Written by David Glassman

Since 1942, Ski-Doo has been delivering engineering creativity to adventure-seekers and outdoor enthusiasts. Innovation didn’t take a break for the upcoming 2020 Ski-Doo model year. Find all the latest upgrades included on this year's machines below:

The 2020 Lineup of the Ski-Doo Expedition

If you’re looking for a new snowmobile that surpasses the rugged durability of a trail machine while maintaining all the features found in that popular segment, check out the 2020 Ski-Doo Expedition. The excitement begins with the REV Gen4 platform that places the bulk of the machine's weight in the center for greater stability.

Meanwhile, the ROTAX normally aspirated engines deliver all the muscle you need, topping out at 150 horsepower on the ROTAX 900. The suspension and powertrain are designed to provide a comfortable trail ride or plow through powder when you leave the beaten path behind. With six models to choose from, there is one built to surpass your needs and desires.

Expedition Sport

The wide track and ROTAX 550 engine are ready to conquer the trail with confidence. A windscreen and headlights show you the way. Add a hitch and tow your gear too. The Sport is priced for the budget-conscious shopper looking for performance without sacrificing stability.

Expedition Sport Rev Gen4

The perfect blend of simplicity and new-age innovation that keeps your snowmobile under budget. Trade up to the REV Gen4 platform and a ROTAX 600 or ROTAX 900 engine. Intelligent throttle control gives you acceleration when needed and control on demand. Adjust the throttle forward for finger control when you need to give your wrists a rest. The digital instrument display tracks fuel and engine performance.

Expedition SWT

You might think the initials are for a sweet ride, which it is. In reality, SWT stands for super-wide-track and it's exactly how it sounds, with the widest ski on the market. You will sail over thick powder and discover a new level of confidence when cruising the trails. Its front suspension helps to limit roll in the turns while the roomy platform gives you space to stretch your legs on a long haul.

Expedition LE

Built on the REV Gen4, add on the engine of your choice. The lightweight design of the Expedition LE has a 20-inch wide track and a multi-LINQ plate that is ready to help secure your fuel, gear, or supplies weighing up to 125 lbs. when you use compatible connectors. The crossover front suspension offers two settings for trail riding or backcountry explorations.

Expedition SE

You’ll find all the little extras on board that turn this machine from a part-time ride into one ready to tackle the trails every weekend. The easy-shift transmission and air-controlled suspension take the work out of the ride while your multi-LINQ plate and cargo box are ready to load up your supplies. A tow hitch, 7-inch digital display, and a variety of track choices are available to personalize your Expedition SE.

Expedition Xtreme

Leave your buddies behind in a cloud of powder with the ROTAX 850 E-TEC two-stroke engine with 165 horsepower and a new pDrive primary clutch for instant acceleration. The rear shocks are designed to be rebuilt after you steal the trophy at the meet. The single-keel skis are bred to cut into hills while easily plowing through the deepest snow.

New Call-to-action

The Summit X Updated with the Expert Package for 2020

How many times have you taken your machine into the backcountry and wished for a lower seat back, better engine ventilation, or an adjustable limiter that didn't require getting buried in the snow? The folks at Ski-Doo listened to all your complaints and created the Expert Package that turns the Summit X into an adrenaline pumping snowmobile loaded with capability.

The E-TECH Shot starter allows you to restart with the push of a button after a short pause. Coated shocks allow for free movement over steep bumps and sudden drops. The seat lets you stand up or sit while a smaller handlebar delivers a more precise turn. The sides of the engine panels are vented, so there is no stopping required for an overheated motor. Of course, you wouldn't expect all these extras on an ordinary ride. Look for its rakish good looks on a REV Gen4 chassis powered by the ROTAX 850 E-TEC engine.
